What Is PolyTuff?
PolyTuff is a specialty impact modifier designed specifically for recycled polypropylene (PP) granules. Added at up to 3% during dry blending, it increases impact strength and reduces brittleness in finished products — with no change to your existing formulation or processing setup.
It’s used by manufacturers making buckets, chairs, mugs, tubs, and other large moulded PP items where toughness and durability matter most.
How PolyTuff Works
PolyTuff works at the molecular level. During processing, it modifies the internal structure of the recycled PP, creating a flexible dispersed phase that absorbs and redistributes impact energy. Instead of cracking under a sudden load, the material flexes and holds together. That means lower brittleness, higher toughness, and more durable end products — especially when you're running recycled or mixed-quality feedstock. Because it disperses cleanly with standard equipment, you get an even result without specialist mixing gear.
Key Benefits of PolyTuff

Stronger products
Increases impact strength and reduces brittleness in recycled PP items, so fewer parts crack or fail.

Consistent quality
Delivers reliable mechanical properties batch after batch, even when your recycled PP varies in quality.

Cost savings
Removes the need for virgin PP or costly modifiers, improving product quality at minimal extra cost per tonne.

Easy to disperse
Mixes smoothly with standard equipment and blends in directly, with no formulation change required.
Where PolyTuff Is Used
PolyTuff is suited to any process that relies on tough, durable recycled PP:
Recycled PP granule production
Injection moulding grade PP compounds
How to Use PolyTuff
01
Add PolyTuff at up to 2- 3% by weight of your batch.
02
Dry blend it directly with your recycled PP granules.
03
Process as normal — no change to temperatures, equipment, or formulation.
Dosage may vary depending on the quality of your raw materials and the impact strength you're targeting, so it's worth running a small trial to dial in the right level for your feedstock.
Packaging and Storage
PolyTuff is supplied in 25 kg laminated, moisture-resistant bags. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture to keep it performing at its best.
Why Source PolyTuff from VIN Group
VIN Group manufactures PolyTuff to an ISO 9001:2015 quality system, with technical support to help you get the dosage right for your specific recycled PP. If you're tired of fielding complaints about cracked or brittle parts, a sample is the fastest way to see the difference for yourself.
Faq
PolyTuff is an impact modifier for recycled PP. It increases impact strength and reduces brittleness in moulded products like buckets, chairs, tubs, and industrial containers made from recycled polypropylene.
Use PolyTuff at up to 2 – 3% of your batch size. The exact dosage depends on the quality of your recycled PP and the impact strength you need, so a small trial is recommended.
Yes. PolyTuff is designed for recycled and mixed-quality PP, where it compensates for variable raw material and restores consistent mechanical properties.
No. PolyTuff is added directly during dry blending and works with your existing formulation, temperatures, and equipment — no process changes required.
